
The Crisfield Arts & Entertainment District (CAED): The non-profit Crisfield Arts & Entertainment District is the State recognized entity for the management of the Crisfield Arts & Entertainment District. The CAED is part of Maryland’s Arts & Entertainment (A&E) Districts who help develop and promote community involvement, tourism, and revitalization through tax-related incentives that attract artists, arts organizations, and other creative enterprises to towns and cities across the State.
The CAED is known for celebrating the town’s rich maritime heritage and creative community.
Key highlights of the district include:

Local Art Galleries & Studios: Spaces where regional artists showcase paintings, photography, sculpture, and crafts inspired by the Chesapeake Bay.

Public Art & Murals: Colorful murals and installations reflecting Crisfield’s history as the “Seafood Capital of the World.”

Events & Festivals: Regular events like the Corbin Gallery Christmas Market, Hangin’ Out Art Show, The Corbin Student Art Exhibits, Connecting Crisfield Community Through Art mural project, Crisfield Charting of the Tides Fundraiser for the Hohman Center Food Pantry, Symphony of Senses music and art production, The Corbin Gallery Art Fusion Exhibit, annual Black History Month Exhibition and Soul Food Sampling event, Gallery 413 art exhibitions, holiday auctions, and theater productions, to name a few. We are a sponsor for many events such as The Annual Waterfront Jazz Festival, Tangere Sound Music Festival, The Tawes Museum Annual Heritage Festival, The Big Little Town Fest, all connecting music, food, drink and art….and fun!

Historic Venues: The district includes landmarks such as the Corbin Studio & Gallery, Gallery 413, The J. Millard Tawes Historical Museum, The Crisfield Armory, and numerous historical places of worship all highlighting local culture and history.

The mission of the Crisfield Arts and Entertainment District Project is to foster the economic vitality of Mainstreet by building partnerships to develop, support and promote diverse artistic, entertainment and cultural endeavors that preserve a sense of place, appreciate the unique historic character of the district and build community pride.
